| PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: Having always had an interest in art, I participated in studio art at an early age; working in oil paints, batik, ceramics, fiber, wood and printmaking. My college years were spent studying French and Fine Arts with a year at the Ecole Des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, France. Upon entering the "professional" world, I was hired as an art consultant for a gallery in Boston, a position I held for three years. Feeling confident with my knowledge of the business, "hands - on" experience in Fine Arts, and strong relations with the local artists, I decided to freelance as an art consultant. Six years later and representing over 50 artists with projects in France, Puerto Rico and throughout New England, I felt I had all the necessary tools to open an informal art gallery. | | MY OBJECTIVE AS AN ART CONSULTANT. My goal as a successful art consultant is to introduce and provide affordable art to corporations, avid collectors and most importantly the first time buyer that might need a little more guidance throughout the process of acquiring their first piece of "real" art. Listening to what each individual responds to or understanding the business of a corporation is paramount to offering creative and intelligent selections of artwork from which to choose for their home or place of work. In my gallery at any given time are over 70 pieces of art. However, if an individual is indifferent to the art but has an idea of what he or she is looking for, I will make every effort to locate a piece that might be the "right one" or commission an artist to create a piece specifically for that individual or corporation. The personal attention I give to each person is to ensure that the artwork they ultimately choose, is something they will respond to and enjoy indefinitely. My advice to anyone interested in acquiring art, is to leave it for awhile. If you saw a piece of artwork weeks ago and it remains a vivid image in your memory today, then it's truly a piece you admire and should have. | |
